Fall and Winter Products are a Hit

We knew that seeing the new lines at the ABC Show in Vegas would be overwhelming and we were right! So many fabulous companies and fun new products to from which to choose. Something else we learned was how special the lines we already carry and and that their products just keep getting better and better.

So, common sense told us that we didn’t need to open more accounts, but just do more of what works well for us now. As a small business, we have to be very fussy about where we spend our money. So we doubled our apparel and gift lines by extending our buying from our best selling lines like Beba Bean and Angel Dear.

Santa Hat Pee-Pee Teepees by Beba Bean actually had a call list waiting for their arrival. They not only provide great laughs at the baby shower but actually serve a purpose. Anyone who’s changed a newborn boy knows what I’m referring to! I can’t get over how adorable the sweater socx are and little girl poncho are. Their softness and style make them hard to resist.

Angel Dear’s Eco Collection is just pure organic coziness. 100% organic cotton with 100% charm. Their fine-guage knitwear from the Baby Boomer Collection is irresistable in the cotton/wool/cashmere fiber blends. The holiday looks included a bold reindeer coverall with hat that is a great gift paired with their red cashmere booties.

“I want one of each!” Said Denise, for newborn son Charlie. I’m sure he’ll have them.

Setting up Baby Riley’s Nursery

Both Denise and I have a very long list of favorite products but it is Denise’s fortunate opportunity to actually put together a nursery for her new baby. It was her first pregnancy that was the impetus for developing Bebe Suite. She knew that there was a need for a retail location that carried sophisticated crib bedding, quality and stylish cribs and furniture, and accessories for newborns that new parents and grandparents just couldn’t resist. So here it is, five years later, and she’s like a kid in a candy store.

Lovingly hand selecting her favorites with less than eight weeks to go, here is how the nursery is shaping up. The cornerstone of the nursery of course, is the crib. Selecting the Nantucket Crib from AP Industries, she chose to finish it in their newest lead-free finish, Anthracite. This somewhat slate, grey-black stain reminds us of a classic color from New England. Paired with this classic crib is the Graham bedding from Serena and Lily. Slate blue, goldenrod, and combine for a sophisticated pattern

Ode to Grandparents

I love it when a newly tapped Grandparent walks into the store. Here, inside the store, it’s not the dreaded thought that they’ve reached the time in their life where they are old enough to have branched into two extensions of the family tree. They are ecstatic at the notion and quickly begin to share their joy with us.

Their generosity is amazing. From buying the first little baby shlumpie to organizing and hosting a shower to buying the crib, glider, or even the whole nursery, their unconditional support is overwhelming to witness. Their only frustration is when the sex of the baby is not revealed until birth. They look and look for gifts only to hesitate because they don’t want to buy the wrong item or color. So they are forced to wait; held hostage by life’s true mystery.

Its one of many “sweet moments” we get to experience at Bebe Suite. Everyone is so happy; and we’re happy to share in their happiness.

Inaugural Babble

Here it is, the first blog for Bebe’ Suite. If you aren’t familiar with us, located in Fairlawn, Ohio, we are a privately-owned baby boutique specializing in quality nursery furniture and accessories, also specializing in luxury gifts for baby. Happily, we are celebrating the store’s second anniversary.

Who are we? We are Co-Owners of Bebe’ Suite: Denise Riley and Marty Draime. Two friends and former co-workers since 1999. We bring over 30 years of retail experience to the business, and, more importantly, the experience of being busy moms raising our own families, certainly a pre-requisite for working with new parents.

We hope that publishing a blog will give us an opportunity to express the joys of working with new parents as they set up their child’s first nursery. It’s such a family affair- with both parents and Grandparents involved, it becomes a very personal experience and both of us enjoy every aspect of working with the entire family to complete this momentous experience.

Bebé Babble will be our outlet for communicating those trials and tribulations both inside and outside our lease lines. We hope you enjoy and follow along!
